Defrost Tray Conductivity Meaning Tips

As you allready know, aluminum is a good conductor of heat. The defrosting board is fairly thick with good mass/weight for its size.

I use mine all the time. It will not magically defrost within minutes, but it does hasten the process. Rather than wasting water, placing the board in the sun speeds up the defrosting period considerably. It also helps to turn the frozen item over about halfway through.

When I freeze meats, for example, a single layer will defrost more quickly and evenly than a stack of two thick steaks/chops will do.
